THE “RALLY DI SARDINIA"

The Rally of Sardegna The 80s myth returns. The first "African" rally held outside the continent. Upon his return from the 1984 Dakar rally, Renato Zocchi and his brother Guido created and developed this race until it became the official qualifying test for vehicles entering the World Rally Raid Championships, such as the Paris Dakar. In 1987 there were over 1,000 attendees at the rally, including car and motor- cycle participants, assistants and enthusiasts. After 35 years "The Myth" is re-proposed by Deus ex Machina and Adventure Rideng- a company created by Renato Zocchi himself, his brother and a group of enthusiatic friends - with the Swank Rally formula: off-road routes with special tests of self-timed skill and regularity, the Gentleman's Rally formula that in two years has seen 9 national and international stages and hundreds of enthusiastic participants. Checks, departure and the first special test will take place in the temple of speed: the Autodromo di Monza. During the event "The Reunion" over 13,000 motorcyclists will attend the early stages of the Rally.

THE RULES, JUST A FEW

Two are the options for participation, a NON COMPETITIVE one “the Swank Experience”, open to all types of off-road bikes and a COMPETITIVE one, “Swank Rally”, divided into categories: R1, "enduro bikes and historic rallie bikes" registered before 31/12/1999, and "modern" - R2 : open to all maxi enduro, scrambler, and enduro specialist bikes registered after 31/12/1999. Discover more

THE ORGANIZATION, A GUARANTEE

Next to Deus will be the original team of the 80s Rally of Sardinia, led by Renato Zocchi, famous pilot of the 70s and 80s. Zocchi is an Italian motocross champion, 3rd in the world championship, winner of the Rally of the Pharaohs, 2nd in the Baja 1000 and protagonist of the Paris Dakar. In 1984 he and his brother Guido invented the Rally of Sardinia then went on to organize the Tour of Italy Automotive and other numerous successful international events.

THE REUNION - MONZA - MAY 18

The Departure: like any respected Rally, the prologue and the start of the race are important stages, as much as the race itself and it is during these phases that we have the contact with the public, when the "show" is made. The SARDEGNA "Swank" RALLY will start from THE REUNION, at the Monza National Autodrome, in an event that over the years has seen its audience grow to more than 13,000 participants. There will be a closed paddock for vehicle checks, a stage for the departure and the riders presentation, a special pre-test which will follow the "SWANK" formula, a revisit of the Swank Rally of Monza in 2017, a masterpiece!
